Urban Garden’s garden renewal at Queen’s Quay Terminal significantly enhances the entrance’s year-round curb appeal.
To reduce ongoing maintenance and make the site more sustainable, turf areas and annual plantings were reduced by 50%.
Annuals and turf were replaced by hardy perennials. Existing trees were pruned or removed and new trees added.
Adding trees, conifers and grasses and removing lawns fulfilled a primary design objective: to improve the winterscape.
Vegetables were interplanted with the perennials, and tenants were invited to share in the autumn harvest.
