Yorkville Garden Room

For this downtown home, Urban Garden transformed a simple balcony off the kitchen into a latticed garden room in the treetops.

The concept rendering illustrates cedar open lattice walls and built-in interior planters with room for a dining table and seating.

The exterior view highlights the profusion of plants the homeowner wanted to screen poor views and offer eye-level greenery indoors.

Evergreens were included to ensure a winter landscape. All plants benefit from the easy care of an integrated irrigation system.

Diners are sheltered from rain by a plexiglass roof and screened from the view of the parking. Yet the space feels bright and airy.
